How to take 6 weeks off your yoga business and it not collapse!
/Teaching yoga, running a business and earning a living isn’t easy, especially when you throw in parenting or other responsibilities, but it’s possible. I just took 6 weeks pretty much off my business over the summer holidays and it didn’t collapse. I thought I’d share a little of what I did in case it helps…
✔️Built up recurring income, so I could sit on the beach and still afford the ice creams.
✔️Set up adverts, which I trialled before hand, and allowed them to do the work
✔️Managed my expectations - this wasn’t the time for growth or new projects. I just needed to maintain things. But I still had the biggest month of new students ever.
✔️Managed other peoples expectations, letting them know I was on school holidays and would be slower than usual with things.
✔️Relaxed, trusted and allowed things to flow. Which they did! It’s amazing how things can work out when you stop worrying or trying to control them.
Now the challenge is to maintain this relaxed mindset as real life resumes, something we can all learn a little from! When we feel calm, things seem to flow more easily, but we have to do the work to create the foundations first, which allow us to let go a little. This is intentional, it’s not magic!
My 300 hour advanced yoga teacher training includes mentoring and business support, because all yoga teachers also need this if their teaching is their livelihood too. I bring 17 years of experience (including the mistakes) that have helped me get to this point.
I also offer 1:1 mentoring, and this is included in all my 200hour online YTTs so I can give everyone all the support they need. This is the part of teaching I really love!
Feeling curious about how you can create a yoga teaching business that supports as much as your students? Sussex/online 300 hour YTT starts in March, self paced 300hr starts today.
