Why mentoring is such a pivotal part of my 300 hour yoga teacher training
/While I love mentoring and coaching yoga teachers, plenty of teachers struggle to invest in it, favouring more training instead. I completely understand this; mentoring is expensive and it doesn’t give you a new style of yoga or specific group or class to teach. People also often focus on their teaching and yoga practice, trying to perfect this whilst overlooking the other skillset we need as self employed yoga teachers - running a business!
Doing more training often feels safer; it provides a new skill or style of class that means you can increase your offerings and earn more, and it often gives you more confidence in actually teaching. This all makes sense in theory, but in reality you often end up with more skills, more potential classes and no idea how to actually grow your business.
The truth is we need both - to keep learning about yoga and developing teaching skills AND support to put all of this into practice, developing new classes and offerings, promoting them and earning more. This is when the investment pays off! It’s why my 300hr advanced yoga teacher training includes mentoring, and why it’s so valuable, as my students have found...
"The 1:1 and group mentoring sessions are one of the best aspects of the course, I think" - Gregor, current 300hr YTT student.
The group mentoring sessions allow you to learn from, all with different backgrounds, which creates a real sense of community rather than competition. And 1:1 mentoring is totally targeted to you, so that you can work on the aspects of your business or your teaching that you really want to develop.
If you want to learn more about yoga, grow your skillset AND learn how to actually implement this and grow your offerings too, join us! My next 300 hr advanced YTT starts in Sussex in March. The flexible, hybrid approach is perfect regardless of where you're based - I have a student currently attending from Wales!
But if you prefer to learn online, the self paced 300hr advanced YTT is also now live.
