Sussex Wellness Weekend 

7-9th June 2019, Heathfield, East Sussex

A weekend dedicated to giving yourself time to look after your whole body, with our inside-out approach to wellness. We will be staying at the gorgeous Hawthbush Farm, nestled in the Sussex Downs.

The beautifully styled cottages offer single and double occupancy, with access to our own alfresco hot tub and plentiful walks across the Downs. The weekend escape is a chance to recharge your batteries, take some positive steps to your own wellbeing and learn about how you can nourish your soul with simple activities and easily cooked foods.

About the weekend

Arrive at our secluded farm for evening yoga and relaxation, followed by a delicious dinner of locally sourced produced cooked by our in-house chef. Throughout the weekend we will have a handpicked activities to nourish your body and mind, from firing up your metabolism with HIIT workouts to unwinding with yoga nidra. The weekend includes a bespoke coaching session and wholesome cookery lesson to really help you take control of every aspect of your wellbeing.

An optional extra night at the cottage can be arranged for Sunday night, letting you turn this into a rejuvenating long weekend.

 

Sample Itinerary :

Friday :

  • 4 pm - welcome and settle in

  • 5 pm - gentle yoga and relaxation

  • 7 pm - delicious dinner of locally sourced organic food

Saturday :

  • 8 am - fire up the metabolism with outdoor HIIT

  • 9.30 am - wholesome breakfast

  • 11 am - countryside walk

  • 12.30 pm - light lunch

  • 3 pm - core workout and energising yoga

  • 5 pm - whole food cookery workshop & dinner

Sunday :

  • 8 am - light snack

  • 9.30 am - countryside jog / walk

  • 11 am - brunch

  • 1 pm - ‘positive mind, positive body’ coaching workshop

  • 4 pm - yoga nidra

  • 5.30 pm - time to go home… or stay an extra night!

 
 

Hawthbush Farm, Heathfield - our countryside retreat

In the heart of the East Sussex countryside, Hawthbush Farm is an organic farm that takes pride in it’s species-rich meadows and ancient woodland. Sustainability is at the heart of the farm, which provides its own spring water, uses solar energy to power most of its electricity and heats the cottages with a biomass boiler. It is also home to 25 heifers, that are raised until they are old enough to become milkers at a local raw milk dairy. The onsite micro-brewery, Gun Brewery, and natural skincare range, Amly Botanicals, provide an quirky addition to the working farm. The surroundings are truly beautiful, with walks through the fields and woodland leading to stunning views overlooking Beachy Head. And for those of you who love getting close to nature, the outdoor hot tub is the perfect place to relax.

Weekend Activities

Our Wellness Weekend Retreat will include our unique, tailored programme of activities that allow you to focus on your body and your mind, from exercise to eating to mindset. Our hope is for you to leave feeling recharged, refreshed, balanced, enthusiastic and empowered to take what you have gained from the weekend back into your daily lives. The weekend will include:

  • High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) : We have chosen these workouts because they can be easily scaled to your ability, simple, fast and effective. You don’t need a gym or lots of fancy equipment to incorporate a HIIT workout into your routine at home, and they get great results!

  • Jog / Walk : You can scale this however you want, but the aim is to get outside into the beautiful countryside, breathe in fresh air, feel the earth beneath your feet and move your body. Gyms have their uses, but nothing beats the great outdoors!

  • Yoga : A combination of energetic Vinyasa and soothing Slow Flow, yoga sessions will bring back that sense of connection that we can easily loose, as you move your body and flow with your breath.

  • Yoga Nidra and deep relaxation : Will help to let go of your thoughts, as you move towards a calmer state of mind.

  • Coaching : Our group coaching session will give you some amazing tools to help you manage your stress levels, motivation, self belief and get you setting and achieving some awesome life goals.

  • Wholefood cookery : We don’t believe in diets, but we do believe in eating healthy, wholesome and nutritious food. But with the best intentions in the world, without any guidance it can be difficult to know what to cook, how and when - and that’s when we reach for the pizza. Our nutrition and cookery workshop will give you some ideas, plus it’s a fun way to spend a Saturday night!

 

Rooms & Prices

The retreat is spread across two adjacent cottages. Rooms vary from King size to triples, with prices accordingly. All rooms are beautifully decorated, some with ensuite and some sharing a bathroom between 2 rooms.

The Granary: The smaller cottage has two bedrooms; one with a double bed and one with two single beds. Downstairs is a beautifully designed bathroom, shared between the rooms. There is a small kitchen and living area to relax in.

The Cowshed: The larger cottage has four bedrooms. Upstairs has two super-king bedrooms both with ensuite shower rooms and one room with a double bed and a single bed. Downstairs there is a twin bedroom with access to a family bathroom. The Cowshed has a large open plan living area and a big communal kitchen-diner. The Cowshed will be our main base for the weekend.

Kingsize ensuite room : Single occupancy - £430 per person, double occupancy - £340 per person

Double room : single occupancy - £400 per person, double occupancy - £320 per peson
