CPD and further training to develop skills, experience & confidence in teaching
Yoga and Mindfulness CPD and Further Training, Sussex
Our specialist CPD (continuous professional development) sessions draw from our own experience and knowledge, helping practitioners to develop their experience and broaden their teaching practice. As teachers, we love learning; it is what keeps us inspired and our own teaching fresh. We therefore recognise the importance of delivering the best possible courses in order to share what we know and love with others.

Planning a class for a specific group of young people
Pranayama (breathing techniques) that are safe and appropriate
Mindfulness practices and Yoga Nidra for deep relaxation
Partner yoga and bringing fun into the class

Confidence and self esteem building
Managing behaviour, safety and legislation
What will you gain from the day? An understanding of how to structure yoga and mindfulness classes for specific groups of young people including those with anxiety/mental health, low self esteem, challenging behaviour, autism and chronic pain. Designed as a 'toolkit' session, you will learn an array of practices and techniques that are suitable in the classroom, youth club and yoga studio alike. The day is practical and experiential, with the opportunity to practice what you learn and gain confidence in sharing it with others. Whether teaching a one hour yoga class to teenagers or incorporating 5 minutes of yoga into the school day or 1:1 session, the course will give you a wealth of tools to draw from.
Who is the course suitable for? The session is open to all yoga teachers and trainee teachers, counting towards your Further Training hours with Yoga Alliance Professionals and allowing you to then teach yoga to young people. It is also ideal for teachers, youth and health professionals who want to use the techniques in their own work. The session acts as an introduction to our 4 day Youth Yoga Teacher Training course. It does not qualify you as a Teen Yoga Teacher, but gives you additional skills to add to your existing qualifications. Following the course, we are always on hand to offer support and guidance as you begin to teach!
Pre-requisit : This session is for yoga teachers and those who work with young people. Some experience of yoga is necessary.

Youth Yoga Training for School and Youth Professionals
We offer our toolkit training to staff as a bespoke in-house session, tailored around the needs of the young people you work with. These sessions allow for far more specificity and a flexible learning approach. Work-based training can be one day or spread out in bitesize chunks. With a focus on mental health and inactivity in young people, these sessions work towards key public health agendas.
Cost is dependent on numbers of staff, time and location. Please contact us to discuss bringing a training to your workplace.
